Sugarland Twice the Speed of Life Country Music CD Review

The super talented trio, Sugarland has released their latest Country Music CD entitled Twice the Speed of Life and it is a good one.

Lead singer Jennifer Nettles vocals alone make this CD worth the price.

Toss in some sure winners like track 2, Baby Girl, and track 6, Down In Mississippi (Up To No Good) and Sugarland has another hugely successful release on their hands.

The range and variety of the songs on Twice the Speed of Life are very good. There’s a real good mix of sweet and poignant ballads to wild and spicy.

The CD launches with a very radio friendly tune Something More, and from there the trio proceeds to display why they are considered one fastest rising groups on the country music scene.

These days it’s a very rare CD on which every single song is good or better than the one before it. This CD is certainly one of those rare CDs.

Overall Twice the Speed of Life is a real pleasure to listen to and an outstanding release. I give it two thumbs up.

While this entire CD is outstanding the truly standout tunes are Hello [track 3], Tennessee [track 4], and Stand Back Up [track 11]. My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1, Something More. Very nice!

Faith Hill Fireflies Country Music CD Review

Country music super star Faith Hill has released her first CD in more than three years on the Warner Bros label entitled Fireflies.

This is her sixth release with each of the previous five being multi-platinum efforts, and nine country music #1’s under her belt. Oh and don’t forget about her being a multi Grammy Award Winner.

With a resume like the one just described Hill is clearly one of the biggest, and brightest stars in all of music. Not just country music.

Fireflies is somewhat of a return effort for Hill as she gets back to her country roots after experimenting outside the boundaries of country music on her last outing, Breathe.

I like Fireflies because of it’s high production value, and the focus of the collection is once again on Faith’s incredible singing voice.

The CD launches with a very vibrant tune in Sunshine & Summertime and from there proceeds to remind us that when Hill is in top form, as she is here, the quality of her voice is second to none.

Overall Fireflies is very easy to listen to and is what I call, must have music. I give it two thumbs up. Even the casual music fan will appreciate and enjoy Hills incredible vocal presentations provided here.

The standout tunes on Fireflies are Sunshine & Summertime [track 1], Like We Never Loved At All [track 7], and Paris [track 14]. My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 5, Stealing Kisses. Very nice!

Rosanne Cash Black Cadillac Country Music CD Review

Country music sensation Rosanne Cash has released her latest CD Black Cadillac.

On Black Cadillac Cash whispers, and rocks sings and shares herself beautifully as her overwhelming talent shines through making this lyrically focused song writing at it’s best. This is clearly a real heartfelt project and just listening to the tracks you can hear Rosanne pouring herself into each song. The emotion of each tune readily evident.

I found her songwriting to be quite thought provoking.

This outstanding CD launches with the title track, Black Cadillac which has a very unusual bass line and is on it’s own worth the price of admission.
