Want To Make An Inexpensive Fish Attracting Lure Try the CD Flash!
What is free and can also serve as an effective fishing lure? Simple; compact discs (CD’s). Whether from AOL, or any other source, a CD comes with at least one highly mirrored surface that easily attracts fish eyes. If you haven’t noticed already, a CD is flexible, plastic and can easily be cut with a pair of scissors. You can create a shape like a fish, long diamond, triangle,”V”, or any shape you’d like with relative ease.
Next, drill a hole at opposite ends of your shape of choice. Use a small file or knife point to smooth any sharp edges around the holes. One hole will be used to attach the leader, the second will be used to tie on either a small treble or single hook.
To cast the lure any distance you are going to need to add a quarter to half ounce of weight. The simplest way to do this is to tie a combined swivel and weight to the leader about 18″ from the lure. Another option is to just add a small slip sinker to the reel side of the line before tieing on a swivel. The weight will rest against the swivel when the lure is cast or reeled in.
Substitute a “CD Flash” on one leg of a double jig and you won’t need to worry about adding weight for casting. Or, just slip one of your special designs onto a single lead head, replacing one plastic bait for another. Just make the hole small enough so that the lure is kept from slipping off by the hook barb.
CD’s are also not only “writeable” by computer hard drives but also by felt tip pens of all colors. Draw in eyes, scales, colorful stripes, or just leave it natural flash.
Many shape variations and rigging techniques are possible. Glue two CD’s together and you’ll have a double sided mirror lure. You might need a pair of heavy duty scissors or tin cutters to do the trimming on the thicker lure. Just experiment until you find what works best for you.
No longer will you look at a CD the same way – and neither will the fish!

Seinfeld (Season 3) DVD Review
The preeminent show of the 1990’s decade, Seinfeld grew from an idea of “a show about nothing” into a sacred pop culture icon, not that there’s anything wrong with that… The show follows the life of comedian Jerry Seinfeld and the exploits of his “short, quirky, bald guy” best friend, George Costanza (Jason Alexander), Jerry’s neurotic neighbor Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards), and Jerry’s ex-girlfriend Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus). Through the years, they’re joined by a loveable cast of characters that includes Newman, Uncle Leo, the Soup Nazi, Frank and Estelle Costanza, the Bubble Boy, and countless others
The Seinfeld (Season 3) DVD offers some of the best episodes in the series, with classic lines such as “I think it moved” (episode 18) and “These pretzels are making me thirsty” (episode 28). The third season also includes the famous two part episode guest-starring Keith Hernandez (episodes 34 & 35), where Jerry explains his theory of “the second spitter” while contemplating the depth of his male relationship with Keith. Other memorable episodes include Jerry’s encounter with an overzealous library cop named Bookman (episode 22), the one where George has sex with the cleaning woman (episode 29), the famous pez dispenser show (episode 31), and an entire episode where Jerry, George, Kramer, and Elaine wander through the mind-numbing labyrinth of a parking garage in a feeble attempt to find their car (episode 23)

Corinne Bailey Rae CD Review
From across the big pond, Corinne Bailey Rae has released her self titled debut album and boy is it a good one.
I first caught wind of Miss Rae while watching VH-1 Soul’s album release program. Where India Arie was also recently featured. On the program they featured track 1 from Rae’s CD, Like A Star, and track 3 Put Your Records On and that’s all it took to get my attention.
Well… that and the fact that Miss Rae is umm… let’s just say easy on the eyes.
Anyway, that reality aside I really enjoy the soulful, laid back style with which she delivers her songs. Somewhat reminiscent of a favorite of mine, Sade.
The CD is a fresh new sound and filled with lyrics of love and goodness that fit Rae’s voice perfectly. Also refreshing is the fact that Corinne actually wrote the majority of the songs in this, her debut collection, and the one’s she write herself she co-wrote.
It launches with a great track, Like A Star, that will definitely be heard on radio stations everywhere, and deservedly so. From there Rae proceeds to display why she is destined to be considered one the great vocalists of our time.
These days it’s a very rare CD on which every single song is good or better than the one before it. This CD is certainly one of those rare CDs.
Overall the CD Corinne Bailey Rae is an outstanding release. What I call, must have music. I give it two thumbs up.
While this entire CD collection is outstanding the truly standout tunes are Like A Star [track 1], Put Your Records On [track 3], and Call Me When You Get This [track 6]. My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 9, I’d Like To. Very nice!
